Job Opportunity: Project Civil Engineer and Coordinator
Role Overview:
As a Project Civil Engineer and Coordinator, you will play a key role in the design and coordination of municipal infrastructure and land development projects. Your responsibilities will include preparing design calculations for storm sewers, sanitary sewers, watermains, and other civil components of real estate development and construction projects. You will support the project team by organizing and administering various tasks, with a strong focus on permitting and design coordination. This role involves close collaboration with clients, engineers, designers, and sub-consultants, both internal and external, to ensure projects move smoothly from inception through to delivery. You will report to Project Managers and act as the liaison between the firm and permitting authorities. This includes coordinating and submitting design packages to municipalities, counties, and other relevant agencies; tracking submissions; managing comments received; distributing feedback internally; ensuring revisions are completed; and resubmitting for final approval and permit issuance. Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and proactive communication are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
Prepare design calculations for storm sewers, sanitary sewers, and watermains
Coordinate permitting processes, including plan submittals, tracking, managing comments, resubmissions, and follow-ups to secure approvals
Communicate and coordinate effectively with design teams, consultants, clients, and contractors
Prepare cost estimates, contract specifications, tender documents, and approval applications
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum 2 years of experience in single-family land development, with a solid understanding of civil infrastructure, earthwork, water, sanitary, and stormwater construction
Proficiency or familiarity with AutoCAD
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to take initiative, follow through on tasks, and work independently without requiring reminders. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Being available during the work hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Daylight Time (CDT), aligned with the time zone in Houston, TX (GMT-5).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Single-Family Land Development with a focus on vision-based
Familiarity with Civil 3D
Familiarity with City of Houston & Harris County Permitting process.

Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a civil engineering consulting company.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
Demonstrated expertise in Xrefs, viewports, volume calculation, map preparation, processing field survey data and topographic plats.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Familiarity with residential and commercial drafting standards.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
